Foster Homes
Guildford & District Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue relies on foster homes provided
by our friends and volunteers. What is meant by a Foster home is someone who can look after
a G&DSBT dog until a permanent home becomes available.
We would look for the same requirements as in a permanent home and a home check would be needed
before the dog was taken in.
For logistical reasons foster homes would normally need to be within a
5 mile radius of Godalming where our vet is based. We prefer to use foster homes rather than
kennels as SBT’s in particular do not kennel well preferring to be in a home environment.
We are always looking for new friends and volunteers that can provide a temporary home and
encourage you get in touch with us if you think you can help.
Foster homes should be able to provide:
- Warm, comfortable living conditions
- Adequate daily exercise
- Offer a stable, loving environment
- Conditions to keep separate from fosterers own pets
- Dog not to be left alone for more than 4 hours
- Have access to transport the dog when needed
Guildford & District Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue pay for all food, vet bills or other reasonably
incurred necessary costs during fostering.
